Holistic Early Learning

A Blend of Montessori, EYFS & STEAM in Sharjah

We move beyond passive supervision. Regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), our curriculum provides dedicated Montessori sensory labs, the British Early Years framework, hands-on STEAM inquiry, and bilingual language immersion.

The Montessori Philosophy

A Dedicated Montessori Lab on Every Floor

The Montessori movement takes its name from Dr. Maria Montessori (1870–1952), who established the first children’s house in Rome in 1907. Today, Montessori is the single most respected early childhood philosophy in the world, practiced in over 100 countries.

Unlike nurseries where Montessori is merely a marketing slogan, Little Feet provides a dedicated Montessori sensorial laboratory on every floor at our Al Khan, Al Khalidiya, and Al Jazzat campuses. Equipped with authentic apparatus, children manipulate physical cylinders, beads, and tactile boards during self-directed 90-minute daily work cycles.

The 5 Core Pillars of Our Montessori Curriculum

Every material has a specific “point of interest” and built-in error control so children learn to evaluate their own progress naturally.

Self-Reliance & Motor Coordination

1. Practical Life Exercises

Children develop essential daily living skills such as water pouring, scooping, table-setting, zipper/button fastening, and gentle sweeping. These exercises cultivate fine motor precision, bilateral coordination, and genuine self-reliance.

Key Apparatus:
  • Pouring & scooping exercises
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Concentration & order
Refining Every Perception

2. Sensorial Exploration

Devised to refine every quality perceived by the human senses: dimensions, shapes, textures, weights, sound pitch, and thermal variations. Children use authentic apparatus (pink tower, cylinder blocks, rough/smooth boards) to order their sensory world.

Key Apparatus:
  • Pink tower & brown stairs
  • Texture & weight grading
  • Visual dimension discrimination
Phonics & Expressive Expression

3. Language & Articulation

Language is the primary key to joyful socialization. Through textured sandpaper letters, phonetic object matching, and animated daily storytelling, children organically connect phonetic sounds to letter symbols in both English and Arabic.

Key Apparatus:
  • Tactile sandpaper letters
  • Phonetic awareness games
  • Vocabulary expansion & stories
From Physical Objects to Abstraction

4. Concrete Mathematics

Math is all around the child. We introduce real tangible materials: spindle boxes, bead stairs, and numerical rods so young learners internalize exact numerical quantities and spatial dimensions long before memorizing abstract symbols.

Key Apparatus:
  • Montessori counting beads
  • Spindle counting boxes
  • Spatial patterns & symmetry
Earth Studies & Botanical Discovery

5. Cultural, Art & Nature

Children blossom through active relationships with the living world. Our curriculum includes botanical gardening, weather tracking, continent puzzle maps, cultural celebrations, pottery, and musical rhythm.

Key Apparatus:
  • Botanical seed germination
  • Continent globe exploration
  • Expressive clay & music

British Early Years Foundation Stage
British EYFS Framework

Nurturing 7 Early Developmental Benchmarks

The British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets international standards for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 years. It ensures that every child receives a broad foundation of communication, physical capability, and social-emotional confidence.

At Little Feet Nursery, our certified EYFS practitioners observe each child’s unique pace and document individual milestone progress across three Prime areas and four Specific areas, guaranteeing smooth entry into premier British, American, and UAE private primary schools.

7 Core Developmental Areas:
Communication & Language
Developing attentive listening, expressive conversational vocabulary, question asking, and conversational confidence.
Physical Development
Gross motor coordination through obstacle runs and balance bikes; fine motor control through threading and mark-making.
Personal, Social & Emotional (PSED)
Building emotional regulation, cooperative friendships, confidence, empathy, and positive self-awareness.
Literacy & Pre-Reading
Linking phonics sounds to letters, listening to rhythm and rhyme, and developing early mark-making and writing habits.
Mathematics & Number Sense
Recognizing numbers, counting physical objects, comparing weights and shapes, and understanding sequence and time.
Understanding the World
Observing weather changes, exploring natural garden fauna, cultural traditions, and basic interactive technology.
Expressive Arts & Design
Exploring color mixing, finger painting, music percussion, role-play drama, and tactile sensory materials.
STEAM Inquiry

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics

Rather than memorizing dry facts, young children explore real-world phenomena through hands-on inquiry. Our STEAM curriculum bridges playful curiosity with scientific reasoning: children hypothesize, construct with blocks, mix pigments, and observe nature firsthand.

Through open-ended experimentation with balance scales, magnetic tiles, magnifying lenses, and water pathways, children develop the flexible problem-solving mindset essential for future academic success.

Speech Therapy & Bilingual Immersion
Language & Articulation

Speech Therapy & Bilingual Immersion (Arabic & English)

Early childhood (ages 1.5 to 4) is the most critical biological window for speech and phonological acquisition. We introduce children to both Arabic and English through daily interactive rhymes, finger puppets, expressive storytelling, and phonetic songs.

For toddlers who need gentle support with pronunciation, expressive vocabulary, or articulation clarity, our experienced educators incorporate targeted speech therapy activities directly into small-group routines, ensuring every child finds their confident voice.

Targeted Articulation Support

Customized mouth muscle exercises, sound games, and gentle pacing to overcome early speech hesitations.

Bilingual Arabic & English Fluency

Daily conversational immersion celebrating UAE heritage, Arabic letters, classical stories, and modern English phonics.

Musical Rhyme & Rhythm Circles

Daily musical circles where children internalize cadences, vowel sounds, and vocabulary through joyous movement.

Gross Motor & Outdoor Play

Physical Development in Our Shaded Outdoor Gardens

Active gross motor play is fundamental to emotional wellbeing and cognitive stamina. Each of our three Sharjah campuses features a large, temperature-regulated, fully shaded outdoor playground designed specifically for toddler exploration.

Children run along the cycle track with balance trikes, climb gentle bridges, splash in supervised sensory water play stations, and tend organic botanical herb patches under certified educator supervision.

Frequently Asked Questions on Our Curriculum

Understand how Montessori, EYFS, and STEAM combine to give your child an exceptional early foundation.

Little Feet Nursery follows a Montessori curriculum integrated with STEAM, based on scientific pedagogy. The program is child-centered and age-appropriate, emphasizing real-world problem solving, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, flexibility, and collaborative learning.
The Montessori method was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, who established the first children’s home in Rome in 1907. It is today the single largest educational philosophy in the world, practiced in more than 100 countries across 6 continents, with teaching through play as a major part of the approach.
The curriculum focuses on five key areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Numeracy, and Cultural & Social development.
Practical Life activities are designed to help children develop the essential skills needed to successfully deal with day-to-day experiences, engaging them in meaningful, real tasks.
Sensorial exercises cover qualities perceived by the senses, such as size, shape, composition, texture, loudness or softness, matching, and temperature. These activities refine fine motor skills, visual and auditory senses, and hand-to-eye coordination.
Language is used in the classroom in the broadest sense as a mode of communication and expression, helping children link sounds to letters and progress toward reading and writing. Numeracy exposes children to real objects from day one, helping them build a strong recognition of numbers and their corresponding quantities.
The Montessori and STEAM curriculum is offered at both Little Feet Nursery branches in Sharjah: Al Khan and Al Khalidiya.
